Max Katz is an actor, musician, and writer — a native New Yorker and all-around menschy guy — whose work spans theater, television, and film.
Max has lived, worked, and trained across North America and Europe. His broad experiences in travel, political advocacy, and various odd jobs fuel his passion for conveying the complexity of the human experience with empathy and solidarity.
In New York, he has performed Off- and Off-Off-Broadway at theaters including The Sheen Center, Theatre at St. Clements, The Tank, and Radiohole. Internationally, he has appeared on stages across Canada, the U.K., and Russia.
Max earned his MFA in Acting from Drama Centre London, with joint training at the Boris Shchukin Institute in Moscow. He holds a BA in European Literature and Culture, with a focus on Russian literature and English drama, from McGill University in Montréal.
Off stage and set, Max has guided whitewater rafts in the Maine Northwoods, farmed sustainably in Sicily, fought for digital rights with NGOs in France and the U.K., supported migrant integration in Milan, and continues to work with and advocate for traditional musicians worldwide.
He plays guitar and drums, is an avid cyclist and rock climber, speaks fluent Italian, and dabbles in French and Mandarin. He’s working on walking on his hands.
